Electromechanical pinball machines – my particular strength

 

  • What microchips are today, relays with countless blade contacts, moved by electromagnets, were in electromechanical pinball machines. All the relays are interconnected; if one malfunctions, it usually prevents other functions from working as well, making troubleshooting even more difficult.

  • With over 40 years of experience, I understand electromechanical logic and can empathize with its function.

  • Properly cleaning and adjusting blade contacts and stepping mechanisms is an art almost as old as electricity itself.
    Nowadays, this technique has been replaced by microelectronics and this art is no longer taught.
    I still know how to do them, just like I know how to read old circuit diagrams.
